    The game starts off pretty good and the ending level is really great but the middle is a slog

    The absence of any sort of fast travel save for jumping planet to planet on your ship thankfully is pretty bad for a modern game but abysmal and frustrating for a game that gates functional elements health packs behind exploration and secrets

    Youre either doomed to finish most of the game with just two or spend a quarter of the game backtracking in search of secrets

    Some of the environments are good and some of the exploration is pretty neat but there are plenty of stages that are uninspired and with frustrating level design

    The progression of getting your skills back makes sense narratively but it means youre only spending a small fraction with the full arsenal and this feels bad

    Enemy variety is probably as low as it gets and its not an issue with stormtroopers after all how many ranks can there be but wildlife could have afforded to be more varied throughout the vast galaxy

    Combat is fine but never as engaging as the soulslike formula would expect it to be bosses are thankfully easy enough to make up for the lack of finesse
