I can get it to work, but i don't want to have to fight with my makeup, especially one claiming to be a pro palette.

As long as you go light on some of the darker colors, you can achieve a more subdued look, but more dramatic looks come off looking cakey.

I always use an eye primer, but it doesn't help much.
