This is not a gel cleanser, this is a liquid watery cleanser. I don’t really feel it cleans my skin of everything, but it definitely doesn’t dry me out. I feel as though it doesn’t do anything. In April, my skin started to get very irritated, red, and dry because of stress. The irritation was worsened because I use a prescription strength retinol for hormonal acne, and my skin became so sensitive that I couldn't even use gloss ier's milky jelly cleanser, one of my gentlest cleansers. So I absolutely scoured the internet looking for a cleanser that was specifically meant for irritated, sensitive skin and I ended up deciding to try this one. I've been using it ever since and have already had an empty and repurchased it. It is absolutely THE gentlest cleanser I have ever used and always leaves my skin feeling calm and soothed. It doesn't strip the skin, has the barest hint of a scent, and a very mild lather. The texture is actually really interesting, the gel is almost plump and soft. My skin has completely recovered from the irritation and I've been able to slowly reintroduce the retinol cream again. I've only been able to get to that point using this cleanser and A LOT of very gentle moisturizer. Since its quarantine I haven't been wearing much makeup, so I can't really comment on how it is at fully removing makeup, but I'm a big believer in a double cleanse so I wouldn't be using this as a makeup remover anyways. I removed a star because I'm unsure about its use with makeup. Overall I think this is a really great cleanser if you're looking for something VERY gentle and soothing.  Read Less
