I excessively Googled "GHD soft curl vs t3 curling iron" prior to eventually purchasing both. It's been a few months now, after a few months and I wanted to write a review here answering my own question because I never got the answers I needed. Aside from the GHD having a single heat setting and the t3 five, the GHD heads up significantly faster than the t3. It really is a meaningless difference though because 10 seconds versus 30 seconds... seconds are just seconds. In terms of heat, I think that both tools heat up evenly and I had no issues on this front. In my experience, the single characteristic that will impact your decision is the length of the barrel. If you put them side-by-side, you can immediately see that the t3 barrels are a solide inch and a half to two longer than the GHD. Because the t3's barrel is so much longer, I find that you're able to really angle the iron vertically as a hair stylist would. As a result, this makes getting those long, stretched out, 'beachy' waves much easier and quicker. While it may take a little getting used to to figure out how to maneuver the wand since it's a bit longer, I find it does save me quite a bit of time. Both are very smooth and do not snag your hair; however, I have had my hair get caught in the bottom hinge of the GHD numerous times, while in the t3 none. This has to do with both the long length of my hair, as well as the longer length of the t3 barrel. When you pull your hair as you curl, both tools give you a smooth glide, but in my experience, the t3 has a much more slippery glide. When you put your hand on the barrel and feel them when they're cool, you can feel why there would be a slip difference. In terms of weight, I think that the t3 is quite a bit heavier. While the heads are detachable, the GHD is just overall easier to use. I've had no issues with the curls lasting with either wand. I always finish with Oribe and Shu Uemura.  Read Less
