I actually grate and use soap flake in washing machine set to deep fill and never had a problem with not dissolving or not cleaning clothes

Regular soap either washes out very too quickly or would leave too much of residue or even worse wouldnt work at all

I just fill a small dish with warm water dip in the bar to get it wet and apply to the stain then wash in the machine
