Pros & Cons

Pros

The zooz v2 switches are a toggle style switch. Flipping the standard 3-way switch at the other end either way just toggles the light. The light itself is fluorescent and doesn't need a dimmer switch so a simple on/off would do.

Smart switches are great because you and guests or family can also use them like dumb switches. I use my phone as a presence sensor and in the phone settings i allowed the smartthings app to be always on in the battery settings and that seemed to make...  Read More

If, like me, you preferred the ge/jasco switches over the v1 zooz switches, it's time to revisit that decision. I have the ge branded version as well as these zooz. Looks and installs just like the ge switch.

Zooz v2 switches now include the convenient pre-stripped wire pigtail for connecting your neutral (white) wire. Since neutral usually is available, no biggie (though more work) you need one on both the new smart switch and for the dumb switch that's l...  Read More

Cons

The switch works but compared to the nearly identical ge this one caused more headaches to install than the couple of bucks i saved. Spend a few more bucks and get a better brand.

The screw hole that holds the faceplate was over drilled or wallered out so the threading was nonexistent. Each terminal is made for two wires and would not hold a single wire in place.

But overall im really happy with the result

That said i bought another one for another location i was so pleased with the unit

It basically just works as a remote control for the zooz switch

I had an issue with the switch not working about a week after i installed it

This means circuits that previously would have cost me around 60 or more to automate can now be automated for around 30

Shipping

And their turnaround was fast within the same day of my initial message and multiple emails going back and forth each day

I was quite surprised how fast this thing works

They then sent me a replacement switch and return shipping label for the nonfunctioning one

Packaging/appearance

I like the instructions and the packaging better than the ge switches

They annotated my original pictures and included written instruction and i was very easily able to follow the guide to get the ...  Read More

I eventually had to carefully trace each wire and draw myself a diagram to figure out where everything goes

Then when it finally worked as a basic switch i had trouble pairing it with my hub

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

To be fair here i use the ring security base station as my zwave hub which doesnt appear to be very common

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Then when i crammed all of my wires back into the 3gang box the switch started to click and flash the lights on and off

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Turns out that in cramming the wires in a bundle of neutral wires slipped and werent all in contact

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

In the interim ive had to reboot the switch by turning off power at the electrical panel and then back on again perhaps three times once just this morning

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Im also finding perhaps related perhaps not ive not been keeping careful track that sometimes when i ask alexa to turn on the lights controlled by this switch that it fails

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

If i follow through and fiddle just a bit it works again but not what i would call reliable
