Pros

The cord is thick and durable. My only gripe is that the instruction booklet is crazy small. Just ordered my third one for use on my refrigerator.

Paired easily and evidently is also a powerful repeater. This is critically important to homeseer users. Easiest setup of any smart gadget so far.

Using this to control a waterfall pump via homeassistant. Perfect for controlling large appliances like window ac units, sump pumps, and humidifiers. I currently use this in my home assistant automation of a fan in my study when the room gets warm.

An unexpected feature is that this unit reports back volts, amps, watts and kilowatt hours. It is the only device that will give me a readout on the computer of the load current.

I reset / repair and none will do anything. It seems more likely the device firmware has bugs in the reset and firmware restart coding sequences. Manually turning it on does nothing. But a router is not.

So just be aware of this in my opinion limitation if you decide to purchase this product

So i looked through the app and found that zooz makes a similar product

Price

4 out of 5 stars because the range doesnt seem that great and the price is higher than dimmers or other switches

I bought this to solve that as it was the immediate issue and best value for a heavy duty plug that could take higher amperage loads

Maybe theyll be able to offer better price value then and still be profitable

Between this the ge outlet and the aeotec outlet the zooz outlet is the most convenient

Nowhere to be found in the smartthings app

The only real ding for me and this is true of pretty much everything in the zwave ecosystem is that its so expensive for what it is

Competitiveness

I have 2 of these that im using with openhab running on a rapberry pi 4 and a zwave usb stick

If you already have a zwave hub theres very little downside to this zooz smart plug

My second issue is i had decided to use a zwave yale assure 2 lock

I am still disappointed with its limited zwave range in comparison to my much older zwave plugs
