Quality

Threading is strong build quality is tool level

I dont agree with the folks that said it would not fit a canon 5d mark 3

Good quality and not scatches without mods

Packaging/appearance

There are two threaded rings the upper one is to tighten and fix on the zoom h4n the lower one is to lock it onto the hotshoe

I loosened the lower ring first so it will slide into the hotshoe and tightened it securely

Competitiveness

I got this one for my canon 600d and it was great to use when i wanted to record my video

Little over priced but does the job

If it were metal it would probably be stronger than the hotshoe and damage the more expensive camera

I have a h6 mounted to a sony a6300

Imagine if this hot shoe mount has a square base and then imagine that when you fitted in your voice recorder the recorder is hopelessly angled in a suboptimal direction with respect to the square base
