Lid traps the heat. Lid is awesome for heating stuff quickly and then using as a “keep warm” function for stuff like taco meat. With the lid there was no splatter.

This one excels at heat distribution. The even heat distribution ensures consistent cooking results. The adjustable temperature settings allow for precise control over the cooking process.

The actual removable griddle top is thick, which will aid in a more even heat distribution. Has a titanium finish ( not teflon) on large flat cooking area.

After extensive research i decided to invest in the zojirushi gourmet sizzler electric griddle and i couldnt be happier with my choice

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I havent been disappointed and i love the large surface and how easy it is to clean

    The zojirushi brand doesnt disappoint

Replaced the gas cooktop with an induction cooktop and that griddle no longer worked

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The griddle itself is quite light nonstick coated aluminum so i dont know how well it would sear a steak because of the rapid drop in temperature when the steak hits it due to its lower thermal mass compared to a steak

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Havent tried it thats what a real cooktop is for someone asked if the heater varied the input constantly to maintain the temperature

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Still it would be a great feature if it moderated the input current based on how close the temperature is to the desired setting

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I was reluctant to buy a griddle because they are limited in what you can prepare on them
