This is my only complaint on the zojirushi breadmaker i purchased my first in 2001
I looked online and found this on amazon after i examined my paddles and noted they were very loose while seated in the bucket

So i got these blades as replacements for my zojirushi virtuoso plus bread maker
They are not the cheapest items to replace but it is definitely cheaper than a new breadmaker

And when that nub is gone then the paddle turns freely on the drive shaft therefore cannot knead the bread dough

I dont believe the paddles are being damaged by kneading bread but by users making a simple but reasonable mistake

Not knowing how fragile the paddles aredamage to the paddle typically occurs when the paddle is used to manually rotate the drive shaft after the pan is removed from the machine

That brings up the real culprit the bearings for the shafts eventually stiffen and seize and there is no method provided for cleaning and lubricating the bearings

The only solution provided for a seized shaft is to replace the entire bread pan expensive

But the replacement bread pan and paddles are sold separately so you dont want to destroy the paddles just to find out the bearings have seized up because then you will have to buy not only a new bread pan but also replacement paddles also expensive

A shaft on this new one eventually also seized and i had forgotten what i had learned about not rotating the shaft via the paddle so i quickly wrung off the aluminum nub by trying to turn the shaft via the paddle a lesson now learned twice the hard way
