    Needless to say that if there is any steel mesh behind your plaster, it will confuse the scanner.

    It took a little practice on a wall with drywall screws that were not covered with texture and paint, so that i could get the hang of how the scanner responds.

    I can't think of another solution that would be as quick and inexpensive to save what would otherwise have been a lot of repair work.
