Pros
White coverage helps to mask what is underneath (for example a horrible tail pattern) goes on smoothly with brush and roller and is almost luxurious to use. Does a nice job of hiding stains or marks, too. Put it on top of gloss paint befor satinwood.
Saved hours of rubbing down. What a revelation this primer is. Does what it says on the tin.
Cons
Used on welsh dresser with light spray of varnish from 70's didn't do anything except make paint chip off quicker.

I dab a couple of coats all over glass jars and bottles and then either leave as white and decoupage or paint over the top with an acrylic paint

Washed the doors down with sugar soap sanded a couple of small patches which were slightly greasy before painting

I needed to use 2 coats as the paint i was going to use was much lighter than the paint i was covering and i really want to neutralise the previous colour
