The thing thats very different from other label makers ive used is that this machine can print in a full range of colors and can even print photos along with text and clip art some of which comes installed on the machine and some which can be downloaded for free or for a fee directly from the application

The other difference from other label printers ive used is that you design and print from your iphone ipad kindle hd or other android device with wifi capability

The device came with a roll of the 12 inch tape

I think for photos you would want to use at least the 1 inch wide tape or the 2 inch would be even better

There is also an app that you can get that will print a larger photo or project in strips that you can line up to make a full picture

I was able to sync to my phone but could never get it to load with my ipad so it is a little fickle

They ask you to create an account which is email and password and they have you retype to confirm password

Apparently i made the mistake of writing the wrong password so after attempting to set up the printer wifi several times on a whim i changed my password and it actually worked
