It took some practice before our 5 year old learned to steer it but just push your child while heshe learns to steer and they will get the hang of it

Yes the scooter apparatus is hard to open and close but that is a good thing

Scooter works great and it does actually turn by leaning left or right

The only difficulty was you need 2 hands to put the scooter up and take it back out and a child is not able to do it
