The plastic is water repellent so if the seat is in the rain you can easily wipe off the water and it wont soak into the foam

Update 32722 i have ridden this seat for 7 rides and a total of 61 miles and the rear portion of it has sagged under my heavy body weight so that the front is now pressuring my perineum more than is comfortable
