City water is hard and chlorinated. These filters remove the chlorine smell and the water tastes fine. It's city water and i live in an apartment building, so i know the water is safe, in spite of the bad flavor.

These are *! Flogged within a couple of weeks. Water cycled through a tangy stage (2 days long) and then went straight to fishy odor/taste. I have my own dinner and can go months before it registers above zero!
