The battery had failed completely to the point of where unplugging the notebook would abruptly shut it down

Dell refused to send a replacement battery since it was out of warranty and even refused to sell one to me stating that they no longer manufactured batteries for a laptop that was less than 3 years old at the time

The battery doesnt come charged from the factory so be sure to have your system plugged in when you boot it up
