Pros
In his epilogue, mo willems lists all the countries he has visited. The book is a must-have for parents who love willems as much as their kids do. Mo willems is a genius.
Very unlike any travelogue i have read before. Each leg of the journey in this book is indicated by its own map. Families going for a ride on a scooter to their destination.
It's a true distillation of his experiences. It bounces from funny to poignant to regretful and back again.
Cons
The writing is pretty dated, but he is funny enough for bathroom reading. The illustrations are really rudimentary and filled with stereotype images. Some of the illustrations are problematic and reek of * sterotyping!

One suggestion in case mo willems ever reads this i wish the book subtitle had used the word 34sketch34 in place of 34cartoon34

Some of the sketches are funny and others are thought provoking instead but my enjoyment of this book does not come primarily from laughing

There is a saying 34never judge a book by its cover34 but this book cover caught my eye for sure

And the other thing that got my attention was that this book is by mo willems you read that right the authorillustrator who is so famous for his award winning childrens books dont let the pigeon book series knuffle bunny book series elephant and piggie book series etc
