Pros & Cons
Pros
The hbs produce a very, very warm sound when playing with an mxr distortion + it produces a grunge/fuzz sound but keeps clarity of each note. They sound amazing with distortion, crunch/overdrive vey well, and clean as well as with super high gain and ... Read More
Excellently priced pickups. Inexpensive unassuming option. Not phenomenal or special in any way, but they are better than the stock pick ups.
They are pretty hot pickups with the bridge dialing in around 12. Could definitely have been packaged a little better. These pickups are hot but not scratchy.
The included screws fit. Wiring is factory quality and all you need is basic soldering skill. No wiring diagram, but just make note of how the old pickups were wired, and copy.
Bridge is 12 k ohms and the neck is 12k. The bridge just has a tad bit more treble. Also, the mounting plate is thicker for the bridge pickup.
Cons
The cheapest beginner guitar at guitar center has better pickups than these. Both pickups have rather severe gouges and scratches in the finish. What a disappointment.
Highlights
Quality
Good fit and they sound much cleaner and brighter than the stock humbuckers
They were an easy install on my epiphone les paul and sound really good
I installed the neck pickup on a crappy squier tele that had the worst single coil pickup i have ever heard
Definitely fit for overdrive and distortion but sound pretty decent clean also
Price

These could sell for 4050 and still be worth it imo
You cant beat them for 16 a set
Packaging/appearance
Could definitely have been packaged a little better
