Pros
Easy to set up and use. Punched clean holes and the grommets installed tight. The crimps are much better than the manual crimps you can create with a a hammer.
The grommets are metric sized that closely match the numbers on the dies. Heavy casting, well fitting dies, epoxy paint finish. It seems sturdy and does what it promises.
Use it to replace grommets in dump trailer mesh tarps. It works well and i am pleased with it. Tl, bought it, fiddled with it, it works nicely.
Cons
The ones i received are not brass but plated. Won't buy from here again and will pass the word to friends and coworkers.
Once you run out though the machine becomes a paperweight. There is a ring of about 1/4 in the perimeter around the hole, in the one this machine can fit, the perimeter is about an eigth inch, which isn't enough to grip the material. A way to replace ... Read More

I’ve used the ones set with a hammer and the hand pliers style and while they work they don’t last very long

The grommets fit on the dies with just a little friction to hold them in place while placing the material into the jaws

It had no problem puncturing through 4 layers of cloth 2 layers of elastic and 2 layers of spandex

Yescom 3 die 024 hand press grommet machine grommets eyelet tool kit heavy duty for industrial use it can do the job but you have to press from face of the eyelet then flip to the back of the eyelet press it several rounds until the eyelet is affixed on the material and not movable
