This book resonates with me from being a working mom, to my relationship with food, to acknowledging my tribe. This book is for people who are afraid to step outside of their comfort zone. Highly recommend this book.

Author shonda rimes wrote the book to encourage young black women to shoot for success and then not be shy about owning their accomplishments. Shonda is so talented, and i am so glad i finally got to this backlist book on my shelf.

Year of yes is as unique and heartfelt as it gets. Truth is, having to do that all day is exhausting. I found it to be inspiring and empowering, if only, you say yes!

I just want to warn others before they buy it lol. But it was presented to me as self help. Really repeating herself.

For the first third of the book rhimes adopts a cutesy irma bombeck ‘ish’ style that is annoying and grating. If you can muddle through the inane and cloying start, at midway rhimes begins to examine some weighty issues.
