I understand that the supplier wants the product to arrive with the consumer in good condition to minimise breakage losses and i get that the supplier wants the product to be safe from components becoming lost along the way but i still think the manufacturer could come up with a better packaging design

Downside 2 somewhat difficult to turn the main bolt over

The main bolt has an angled end so that if the door is closed without retracting the bolt the striker plate will push the bolt back and allow the door to close

To turn it over required opening the case dismantling the mechanism including removing the main spring tricky and refitting the main spring tricky

I understand that this item is intended as a tradesman fit or advanced diy fit and turning the bolt over is a onetime installation thing but i still think that the manufacturer could come up with a better product design that allows for the main bolt to be reversed more easily
