I weld and fabricate items all of the time, sometimes you just don't need to reinvent the wheel. My only observation is that there's no way to lock the shovel, but if some scumbag has to steal my shovel then i feel really sorry for that person.
Cons
The clamp comes apart into separate pieces when undone. The original clamp pieces are also now totally rusted. They just want you to buy a whole new clamp set up!
