Pros & Cons

Pros

Camera view is clear, no lines or distortion, no flutter and video comes up within a second when shifting into reverse. The picture quality is good.

Easy install, camera fogs up in the morning. Installed in a 2010 ford fx 4 super crew 4x4 truck. Very painless install.

Bought this unit at costco. Received the camera and monitor ahead of time, delivered by amazon global shipping. Delighted with the quality.

Easy to fit with diy knowledge of car wiring. Mounts the camera on the bottom of the tag, inverting it and sliding it back in. Can be mounted to a hatch on the dash with double velcro and route wiring from the hatch down to the lighter wires.

Cons

The camera flickers on/off when it cold, or any moisture in the air. The wire supplied to hardwire the monitor is only 4 ft. It is way too short to reach the fuse box of my jeep from a center windshield mounting position.

Since it is curved i had to put the bracket in a vise and put a slight bend in it to fit the countours of the bumper

Then the wiring doesnt really show it in the picture but there is a plug for what reason i have no idea about 810 inches from the end of the wires that hook to your back up lights

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Well you would have to drill a significant hole in your car in several places to fit that plug through and into the inside rear wheel well where the access panel to the rear lights is so i cut the plug off and hard wired into the backup light

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

This required a small hole in the bottom of the wheel well to thread the wire from the outside of the car into the inside of the wheel well

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I took off the left side trim on the radio and threaded the wire down to the radio plug

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I might add that the wires to the backup light from the camera are so small that the connector included in the kit was worthless

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I had to cut the backup hot lead and then solder the wire from the camera to it

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Possibly a 1 second delay but nothing major
