When i had tried to call my phone to find it the other day it would go to voicemail after about four rings so i would have to call it over and over again as i went up and down the stairs trying to find it

What’s nice about using the beacon to find your phone is that it causes your phone to play a musical tone over and over until you find your phone and turn it off—whether your phone is on silence or not

I suggest turning it off in the house as mine goes off and on all the time when i go upstairs with my phone and my keys are left near the front door

You can also adjust the sensitivity of the keep near feature which also seems to affect the accuracy of the location on the map
