I installed this camera into a 2008 jeep commander which originally had a factory installed backup camera

The original camera was much larger than this one but the hole in the frame was not the same and couldnt fit this smaller camera

So i took a dremel to the frame and cut out a hole just wide enough to slide the camera through then i used clear 5 minute epoxy to create a rockhard seal in the frame let it dry overnight and taped the inner side down with a strip of flex seal tape

Now that the camera is in place it almost looks like it could be a factory original install job unless you look very closeup

The image on the head unit is much clearer than the original looked in the original radio screen

Also if the head unit has not booted completely before you engage reverse triggering the camera display will actually pause the startup of your head unit until you shift to another gear or park again
