It comes with a stainless steel lid that initially i was unsure of as i had to put the wire in the top myself but the wire isnt really wire

The next day i put scalding hot water in the bottle and let it sit for several minutes to warm up the lining before putting my coffee in it and that increased the time that my coffee stayed hot significantly but it still isnt reaching even 8 hours

I have a thermos by nissan that has the uncanny ability to keep coffee hot almost 24 hours so i know its possible just not very common

I also left ice water in it over night just to see if it still had ice in it and it did have little pieces of ice in it still
