The edges are hemmed so they wont fray

It sits motionless on my desk and i pretty much never touched the edges where it frayed so it must have come like that from the factory

Because of the rubber component in this mat it might be assumed that it blocks water but it doesnt

In fact it may trap moisture beneath it ruining wooden surfaces

Its slightly smaller than the advertised dimensions but not by more than a quarter inch so it probably wont make a difference to most purchasers
