All the common nimh batteries including the d type cells again the outer two bays extra size allows thiswhat it cant chargenicd batteries the xtar site mentions these in the website description there is no reference to these cells in the manual and no display for nicd cells

I have to assume this is a typo on the makers site usually these cells need a discharge to achieve optimum charging which this cannot do

The central button has only two functions to switch between the channels 14 and 23 a long press turns off the back light if it might be distracting at night this model has no audible alerts or signals

It does not show necessarily show the actual charge rate per battery which is not fixed with the constant voltage charge in particular dont assume this is the actual charge rate
