Ive seen too many 10s and 15s get destroyed at my crossfit box because theyre the same diameter as the heavier plates

My rogue plates are somewhat grippy near the last inch or two of the face near the outer diameter

Maybe thats good for your grip strength development that you have to grip them quite a bit harder in order to lift them but itd be more convenient if they were a bit more grippy near the perimeter where youd normally grab them

Only use them for deadlifts and squats so i dunno how they are dropping from overhead or chest height
