Pros
My only gripe is it seems to give mixed readings. The meter gives an instant reading, on a clear scale. It has enabled me to avoid inadvertent overwatering which has been detrimental to some of my plants.
Stops me from overwatering my outdoor potted plants. Saves me time, no more over watering. Used to check potted plant watering requirements.
Great gadget. Easy to read instructions. Very handy during water restrictions.
The only downfall is the list of plants and moisture recommendation which tends to be a generalisation. Bought for my plants with calethia, more of a chance not to pierce the tubers with one prong instead of two.
This is an exvellent gauge to use when soil appears dry or slightly damp. If your not sure when to water this is the gadget for you. Some reviewers say they have tried to see how wet is water.
Cons
Plunged deep intp a 7 deep pot containing obviously wet soil after standing in 1 of water overnight. Slightly moist.

Firstly do not put this in water to test it doesn’t work like that and it says so in the instructionsit is a very accurate meter

Dont test it with just water or in the soil overflown with water alone as it doesnt work that way
