The pad in the shorts is quite thick

The material is great at absorbing sweat too as can be seen by the mesh type fabric you can see in the photo

I was going to get the xl based on the size chart but a previous reviewer said they came up quite a long way so i took a risk on the l size

As noticed by another reviewer they could be a little tightermore secure round the bottom of the leg but they dont tend to ride up

Some of my shorts are uncomfortable and have to be readjusted but not these except when i tried to use them as running shorts
