Very loud alarm when it sounds

As a manual test i found that holding smouldering paper about 30cm from the alarm for a few seconds produces enough smoke to set off the alarm within 15 seconds

The alarm sound is very loud but can be silenced at the press of a button

However the red alarm warning lamp continues to flash as a visible warning for about 10 minutes

The older alarm would keep triggering due to cooking smokefumes in the kitchen whereas the xsense has not triggered once
