A good 2nd act of the epic that is the story of Aric of Dacia. Visigoth king, transplanted to modern times by an Alien race known as The Vine. While this is certainly a step up from the first volume (which is to be expected since I'm a fan of the 90's Valiant titles, and Vol 1 rehashed a lot of the origin story from the 90's) this still isn't a knock out homerun. It does reintroduce a character favorite from the 90's (although not one of mine) Ninjak. So fans of the british super agent/ninja should be excited, as this is a good jumping on point to see what the new incarnation of playboy Colin King. The interactions between Ninjak and XO seem a little rushed, but the evolving story of the Vine insemination of the Earth populace is interesting, and sets the table for things to come. A good read.   Read Less
