The knife was recommended by wirecutter as their budget chef’s knife. I work in a banquet kitchen and this knife stays up to the hard work. I am a culinary professional and i can honestly say this is one of the best knives you can get for the money.

Wusthof makes an excellent knife, and this introductory knife is no exception. It really is an absolute pleasure to use. I have not been disappointed one bit.

Cuts everything like a hot knife through butter. Makes chopping bunches of parsley a snap. Holds knives to mince and chop using a rocking type motion. Only complaint is that sliced vegetables form a vacuum seal against it.



Cons

The blade is thin and weak. The shape is overly thick for too long a period of time, the belly is also huge. The blade itself isn't bent, it just looks like it was placed out of alignment.
