Pros & Cons

Pros

Great for quartering chicken. The heaviness of the knife really helps with cutting through big bones.

While the henckel is perfectly fine for light duty and playing yan can cook, the wusthof is the one you want for serious business. Only issue is the knife pictured is a bit different than the one we received.

It's really blunt. It's quite substantial! Exceptional weight and balance. Other than the slightly surprising size, great product so far, no complaints.

Cons

The classic line is of higher quality and is a forged and not a stamped blade. This knife is not even as sharp as my $20 knif even after multiple attempts to sharpen it. Buyers this is not wüsthof classic!

Quality

What a knife it was exactly what i was looking for good weight cuts like a charm and the quality is priceless

A good purchase that im happy with

Wüsthof does not make a set specific cleaver for any of their premium cutlery collections with the exception of the grand prix ii 4675

Were more than satisfied with the overall quality and workmanship however the cleaver was clearly not sharp as it came out of the box

Packaging/appearance

Just received anticipating sliding it into its long awaited place in the wusthof block

Competitiveness

A great addition to my wusthof knife collection

The third is how different of a honing technique this has than any other wusthof blade

Unfortunately it is too tall for our wusthof branded knife block

Still trying to find the classic 6inch cleaver

One side of the cutting edge had been polished but there was a very perceptible burr on the other side

It is also a blade designed for axelike chopping through heavy muscle and bone it is not the intended for knifelike cutting

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Very sharp blades tend to dull very quickly when chopping which is why cleavers are supposed to have an axelike edge
