It has linesscores on both sides of it for breaking off for lt 1 14 thick doors

The instructions tell you to hold the spindle with one pair of pliers and break off the end to the desired length with a second pair of pliers

Unless you are superman or the hulk you wont be able to just break it off using two pliers

I took a saw to it then was able to break it off
