Since the macbook air doesn't have any usb ports i needed to get an adapter that would work.

The fact that i have to but a gd dongle to plug in a gd usb in beyond asinine, but here i am submitting to apple's whim.

When you add the length of any adapter, to the usb cable that you are plugging into it, you end up with something that sticks a long ways out of the side of your macbook pro or other usb-c device, just begging for someone to accidentally squash it.

Fwiw, when i purchased a 500gb external ssd, i had the option to get it with usb-c.
