This product fills that need perfectly. The knurled ends provide a positive grip without excessive roughness.

Cons

When i only hand tightened the female adapter on a spigot with threads close to a wall the adapter leaked a little bit

You will probably want to use your channel locks on the knurled flange not the protrusion on the male collector might leak a tiny bit if scratched deeply
