For hard dried on foods like oatmeal, soak it first and there won't be an issue. Once they get a little older, i use them for scrubbing floors.

Double thick, absorbent cloths are perfect for washing dishes. Just the right amount of stretchy, a great weight, hold a good amount of water. Don't become dingy with use. They are super absorbent and kind of thick and stretchy!
