Pros & Cons
Pros
House finches and goldfinch love this feeder. Goldfinches climb on the screening and pluck out the */thistle.
This is where the issues occur. Love them. I just wish it was at least 6-8 longer.
Cons
The grid is too tight for goldfinch. The goldfinches eat from a different brand feeder that i have hanging but not from this new feeder. If not, it will be returned for refund.

Highlights
Quality
This thistle feeder is well made and is not too big to be an eye sore
A sturdy metal feeder that should allow the finches easy access to the seed
The tray weep holes clog easily and the tray fills with water
The mesh does not come off the tray so you cannot easily get this wet mass of seed out
Price
Bought these to hold nyger specifically and it is performing exactly as we want it to as well as they are a great price
I didn’t want a big feeder because thistle seed is expensive
Shipping
I left a so so review and the next day small yellow birds came and fed all day on this
It took them a while but we have had some below normal temps here down south and few are finding the feeder thankfully

Because they are much smaller than the house finches they can perch on the feeder as well as get the seeds out of the fine mesh

Its much too short and i think the birds have a hard time getting the nyjer seed out of the very small holes

I tried this feeder for weeks and even hung it next to the sock feeder so theyd know where to go i eventually removed the sock feeder altogether

Inevitably i had to go back to the socks because the finches just wont use it
