It is pretty much impossible to pull the metal apart without first taking a saw to the wood for quite some time to split it

The picture doesnt show it but it is a very pale washed out sort of offwhite color with a slight yellow hue

The additional metal on the collar looks like it will last longer than my last which still works but the wire got loose
