Of course the flat type cable takes a little more space in your backpack than the smaller cords that are typical of iphones and apple devices but truthfully i dont think this one weighs any more at all

Do remember though if you purchase this that the little blockshaped piece that plugs into the wall and fastens on to the end of this cable is not included with this cable

Incidentally one thing i noticed when i plugged this into my phone was that my phone case would not permit it quite make the connection
