The blue light is not bright enough to bother you when you sleep and it doesnt stay on while charging it glows only when you first plug it in and when the phone connects with it

Yes with a usb power cord and when your device is charging the clear crystal like plastic around the charging pad turns blue from an led light and flashes on and off in slow fades while charging
