I do find that the device is able to charge my phone through its protective case which is a otter box

Ok the cool thing is how it just clamps your phone after you place your phone in the cradlethen starts to charge all without you doing anythingjust drive off

The clamp motor is rechargable on its own so you could use the mount anywhere to hold you phone
