At first i was confused because it did not come with an ac adapter to charge the unit at the base

It works best if you place a firm grip on the wine bottle itself allowing the device to retract and release the cork in one fluid motion

However if you are unable to use a manual bottle opener or dont already have one this is perfect because it literally takes nothing you just set the device over the bottle and push a button
