It blocks out much of the suns heat but not as well as a thicker insulated shade especially those that fit on the outside of the screen which absorb the heat before it gets to the glass

Sunvisor in normal position wont hold it up as its not close enough to the screen but if you unclip the visor and push it forward the visor will fold down to touch the screen to hold it up

Not sure if the xl would have been better but think it may be too wide as the l overlaps in the centre

Easy to use fold and unfold also it is covering my front windshield except the corners which is normal despite the fact it is a kind a square form
