Pros & Cons

Pros

Bought the williams and a 12 dollar sk knockoff made in some undisclosed location in the rain forests of southeast asia. However for the money these are the bang for the buck!

Replaces all moveable parts easily and quickly. Only real con is that the ball detent on the square sockets on so tight that i have to pry them back off with a screwdriver.

Quality and sturdiness. Lightweight, strong, balanced and beautifully finished.

Snap-on bought williams in the 90's and sells their previous generation tools under the j. These are virtually identical to the snap-on 936 36-tooth ratchets, the parts are completely interchangeable. This is identical body to the dual 80 that snap on...  Read More

Cons

Very disappointed. Less than average for usefulness very disappointing.

Even something as simple as tightening a oil drain plug, you then have to disassemble the ratchet head to unbind the gear to be able to flip the direction of drive switch the other way. No real hard torque situations here. No easy release of socket he...  Read More

Quality

This long handle 38 ratchet is super strong made in usa

Long handle will lend itself to extra torque and it feels sturdy enough to handle it without a problem

Its what quality american made hand tools are supposed to be

You could put a pipe on it and even use it for work that would kill most 38 ratchets ๐Ÿ‘

Price

Value price on this model as well

Seems to be a great value for 35 and its nice to buy a us made product

If you want snapon quality at 14 the price buy this ratchet

However for the money these are the bang for the buck

Competitiveness

This appears to be very similar to the snapon fl936 which was my favorite ratchet to use

I will definitely buy more williams products going forward

This ones even better cuz its made by snapon but since its williams brand its a third to a quarter of the price of a snapon ratchet

They do have less teeth than the snapon but 36 tooth was the standard for years on snapon
