Beautiful hardcopy. Beautifully illustrated and massive book. Divided by region with lots of nice pic. Nice graphic details.

Reference books such as these can outlast any power-outage or computer virus. Not really suited for children to operate but it is worth every penny! Love this book.

Checked price while standing in costco and ordered them from amazon on the spot. My grandson is autistic and loves to read informative books. Even my 2 year old granddaughter loves it.

The information in this book is divided into eight sections:animal forest, grasslands, extreme environments, aquatic environments. Fun to read although won't be as concise and complete as the definitive visual guide or animal encyclopedia.

Cons

Never a fan of dk. New england and new brunswick are omitted on the range map for moose. New brunswick and maine are omitted in the map for the striped skunk. Coyotes are only shown in the extreme north of maine.
