These washcloths are thin enough that you don't have to use a large amount of soap to get them to lather. They are not inherently soft, but soaking in softener will help.

These little mainstays (walmart) washcloths are perfect for frequent bed baths, sponge baths, little mop-ups etc. They also rinse out perfectly.

These are the same washcloths i always buy at wm. As one wears down, there are plenty more to use. I recommend these as they last a long time.
